IUPHAR-Ed Newsletter - December 2023

Welcome to the first IUPHAR Education Section newsletter! The last few years have been a time of activity and change, with a restructure of the Section in 2021 to include oversight of both the Pharmacology Education Project and the Core Concepts of Pharmacology initiative (page 10), the development and delivery of a WCP 2023 Education Satellite Meeting and associated education events at WCP 2023 (pages 5–9), and, more recently, the welcoming of 20 new councillors (page 3).
The WCP 2023 Education Satellite was a wonderful opportunity to meet fellow educators—many of whom we knew from video calls but were meeting in person for the first time—bringing together over 100 educators from 20 countries.

Recently, we have established working groups (page 11) around communication—from which this newsletter was born—social media, networking and events. We plan to develop a programme of in-person and online educator events on the topics that matter most to you.
Please let us know what you would like us to cover in these events. How to run education research projects, curriculum development, how best to share resources, and innovative teaching methodologies are some of the suggestions received at WCP 2023.
