3rd Major Update to IUPHAR Receptor Database

IUPHAR would like to announce a third update of its extensive GPCR receptor database that is freely accessible online at http://www.iuphar-db.org.

The database now contains detailed information on 166 G Protein-Coupled Receptors (GPCRs) classified into 58 receptor families.

New receptor families include:

    Glycoprotein hormone receptors
    Orexin receptors
    Platelet-activating factor receptor
    Prokineticin receptors
    Prolactin-releasing peptide receptor
    Relaxin family peptide receptors
    Thyrotropin-releasing hormone receptor
    G protein-coupled bile acid receptor

Information on the following receptor families has been comprehensively revised and updated:

    5-HT receptors
    Adenosine receptors
    Chemokine receptors

The database interface has also received a major overhaul and now provides:

    Improved user navigation
    Links to HUGO, RGD, MGI
    Enhanced ligand display
    Bespoke search facility
'Latest News' page showing recent ligand/receptor pairings
